SATEBA Sleeper System for Slab track (SAT S 312)
Home >  Innovation >  Applications >  SATEBA Sleeper System for Slab track (SAT S 312)

During the construction of the Mediterranean TGV, SATEBA had to deal with the crossing of the Marseille tunnel on slab track. SATEBA launched a value analysis from the Stedef ballastless tracklaying system based on the experience feedback obtained during manufacturing and control made on sleepers after tracklaying.

To meet SNCF expectations, SATEBA developed an innovative solution by performing R&D to the delivery of the final product. The system consists of a SAT 312 twin block concrete sleeper with tight geometrical tolerances placed into two rigid hulls made of synthetic material.

Description of the system:

Benefits of the system :

-  During track laying operationsJPEG - 3.7 ko

The profile of the hull and the use of the seals which surround the concrete block maintains the water tightness and adjustment concrete tightness of the system

-  During serviceJPEG - 6.3 ko

The perfect control of the dimensions the sleeper and the stiffness the hull allow a minimum of 1 mm of end play between the hull and the sleeper. This basic play induces an optimal movement of the system.

The surfaces of the bottom of the sleeper, of the micro-cellular pad and of the hull are perfectly flat. This involves a perfect stress distribution on the whole micro-cellular pad.

-  During replacement operationsJPEG - 5.9 ko

The stiffness of the system elements and the use of narrow tolerances allow the replacement of the sleeper by another one without any particular care. This means the track is available for high speed circulation immediately
